چکیده

Background: Progesterone is used in combined oral contraceptive pills and also has its effect on the respective receptors which are responsible for sexual development. Bronchial asthma emerges to be a major health issue Pakistan with estimated prevalence about 5% of total population. Epidemiological studies highlight that one considerable risk factor morbidity mortality inflammatory lung diseases female gender. This suggests sex-related hormones might play an imperative role disease progression. Understanding biological sex regulating airway inflammation crucial given rising chronic among women worldwide. Aim: To determine progesterone lungs adult male mice by assessing comparing histological parameters e.g. bronchiolar smooth muscle size peri-bronchial lymphocytic infiltration. Study Design: Randomized control trial Place Duration Study: Department Physiology, Islamabad Medical & Dental College collaboration National Institute Health from 1st October 2018 31st July 2019. Methodology: Sixty BALB/c were divided into 2 groups each group comprised 30 mice. Group I (control group) received only distilled water (norethisterone BP mixed distal according body weight respectively 60 days. Results: In response progesterone, 30% had nil, 40% mild, 26.7% who showed moderate while severe PBLI was observed 3.3% Different frequencies Bronchiolar Smooth Muscle Hyperplasia when compared Control group. Mild hyperplasia produced BP) Conclusion: hormone modulates processes producing pulmonary responses leading causes muscles. Keywords: Progesterone, Asthma, muscle, Peri-bronchial Infiltration,

Effect of fly ash inhalation on biochemical and histomorphological changes in rat lungs.

Effect of respirable fly ash particles inhalation on lungs of rats was investigated by exposing them to respirable aerosols of size classified power plant fly ash at average concentrations of up to 14.4 +/- 1.77 mg/m3 for 4 hr/day for 28 consecutive days. A remarkable increase was found in blood eosinophil counts of fly ash exposed animals. Biochemical indicators of pulmonary damage viz. lactat...

Significant Changes in the Levels of Secreted Cytokines in Brains of Experimental Antiphospholipid Syndrome Mice

Antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) is characterized by thromboses and neuropsychiatric manifestations possibly linked to brain inflammation. In order to examine the levels of proinflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokines in experimental APS (eAPS) mice brains, we measured the levels of TNF-α, IFN-γ, and IL-10 in brain homogenates (cytosolic fractions) and in brain slices (secreted level) at 6, 1...

P-21: Morphological Changes of Fallophian Tube after Application of Estrogen and Progesterone during Luteal Phase in the Superovulated Mice

Background: The fallopian tube serves as optimal environment for the transport of gamets, fertilization and early development of embryo. In this study, the morphological assessment of superovulated mice fallopian tube were investigated at window implantation period. Materials and Methods: Female mice were superovualated then were mated with vasectomized mice; the mice were divided in experiment...

Over-the-counter progesterone cream produces significant drug exposure compared to a food and drug administration-approved oral progesterone product.

Progesterone products are available in prescription form as well as over-the-counter (OTC) topical preparations sold for "cosmetic" uses. In a randomized study design, the authors compared the drug exposure from an OTC progesterone cream to a Food and Drug Administration-approved oral preparation at the labeled daily doses recommended for each product. Twelve healthy postmenopausal women receiv...

Central administration of resistin into the paraventricular nucleus (PVN) produces significant cardiovascular responses

Introduction: Resistin, a complex multimeric structure which is secreted by adipose tissue and circulates in the blood, acts on the hypothalamus to increase sympathetic nerve activity, inhibit appetite and is associated with obesity, insulin resistance and cardiovascular disorders. In this study, we survey the cardiovascular effects of direct injection of resistin into specific cell group of th...
